This is an overview of higher education English studies in Norway. It is currently a work in progress.
The National Academic Council for English Studies (Nasjonalt fagorgan for engelsk) is a sub-council of UHR Universities Norway. It is the highest level of collaboration for English in higher education in Norway. It represents the English section at 14 universities and university colleges.
Institutions that offer at least 60 ects in English have the right to be represented in the council.
The council functions as a network for faculty, as a forum for discussion, and as a body entitled to make pronouncments about relevant issues on behalf of English studies academics, or the UHR. It convenes annully in November/December, in meetings hosted by various institutions.
